Have this insert installed by an avionics shop if you do not have
all the proper tools, are not a qualified technician or are not sure
you are capable of doing this job. |

Caution: Do not remove the faceplate from the radio body unless you have
to and are fully qualified to put it back together. |

SPECIAL NOTE: The identification code number
knobs are not removable and must be kept in their exact
position otherwise the identification code numbers shown will be different than the one tuned in
by the radio. |

Remove the dimmer knob with an Allen or Bristle
spline wrench which can be purchased at Aircraft Engravers. |

For tan faceplate owners, you may want to keep the area by the four
windows tan. To remove the clips in the back of the numbered disks is extremely
difficult & expensive to buy if any are
broken. This area can be taped up and blackened with a Tester's paint stick at
step #8 |

Paint the faceplate with a quality paint such as Krylon's 1613 Semi-Flat
Black paint and let dry thoroughly. |

Remove the protective tape. |
| 8. |
If the area around the Freq. numbers needs to be painted use a
Tester's paint stick. *** USE EXTREME CAUTION *** Do not get
the paint onto the numbers. Make a small square of paper or tape to
fit into the hole to protect the Freq. numbers as needed. |

To have the words ALT, ON SBY & OFF lit from the backside, the thin
decal has to be removed. Use a very small straight screwdriver to lift it up
from the lock down cam hole area. |
| 10. |
Remove the double face tape backing from the new insert. |
| 11. |
Install the faceplate. |
